Image result for loyalists vs patriots

With the Loyalist faction mounting their forces with the British troops, and the Patriots gaining momentum in their supporters, picking the right side could be a life or death decision. If you are in 6th hour, you will make an argument why you would stick with the Loyalists. If you are in 7th hour, state your belief why you would join the Patriot ranks.

  1. I would be with the loyalists because I would be protected kind of from each side as if I was with the loyalists then I would most likely not go to jail and be protected. If I were with the patriots, my chances of dying would be much higher. All hail the king.

  2. One reason why someone might be loyal to the king is to prevent them from getting arrested and so they don’t get punished. If they were Patriots, there is a chance they could be arrested.

  3. Yes, I am a loyalist and I support the king 100 percent ;( . I would stick with the loyalist because once we win this war we will have the power and all the patriots will be shinning our shoes. The loyal people will be praised up on and who does not like praise!

  4. I am going to become a loyalist because British has more troops to fight off the war with. They also have the biggest navy in the world and beat the patriots who only have a few boats. The British will also give you large amounts of money and lots of land to start a life if you help them in the war. The British have the most experienced military with lots of supplies whereas the Patriots don't.

  5. I would most definitely side with the Loyalists for multiple reasons. It is incredibly wrong to switch sides like the patriots did to Great Britain. Also, the Patriots were wrong to claim another country as theirs such as they did to the United States. Lastly, I trust the King with anything because he has helped all of his citizens and it is wrong to leave him.

  6. I would want to join the patriots because we wanted to rebel against Britain.I would also want to join the patriots because the loyalist had slaves and to me that is not the right thing to do. I think that everyone should be free cause they are people and there own person.

  7. The patriot cause is best supported by the following arguments. If the revolution is a success the colonist won't have to deal with oppressive british. The colonist would have the form of government that allow them freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, all of the great rights that US citizens have now.

  8. I would join the Patriots side because They are fighting for freedom, and I would rather be free than be loyal to a king as a loyalist.

  9. If I had to choose between the Patriots or Loyalist, I would choose Patriots. I would choose Patriots because they are fighting from freedom from Great Britain. I know now living in 2019 that I am free and its a good thing to be free rather then sitting there and having someone tell me what to do 24/7. This is why I would rather be a patriot rather then a loyalist.

  10. I would like to join the Patriot ranks because I believe what they are fighting for. The Patriots want independence from Britain because they don't like how they are being taxed and also treated. They want their freedom and I understand and support that.

  11. I would join and agree with the patriots side, because they are tired of taxation without representation. The king dislikes the colonists, and only wants the lands resources, so he taxes the colonists with the tea act. Lastly, The British keep barging in to the colonists house, witch is rude.

  12. The reason I want to be a patriot is because, I want to have a choice in the government. I want to be able to state my own beliefs and vote on certain laws. I feel like the way I was treated at Great Britain should not continue in America.

  13. I would join the patriots because I would want freedom away from the king, and be able to do whatever I wanted to do and not be controlled. I would want to fight for a new country and show the mean king that we should be free.

  14. You should join the Patriots because you have more freedom. If you are loyal to Britain you don´t have a lot of freedom. They have a monarchy and the people don´t have any say. The people don´t vote for who they want to be in charge.

  15. The Patriots are obviously where it's at. The king was being abusive towards the colonist. The way he would just randomly tax them without any consent was just absolutely disgusting. Any people who side with the loyalist are wrongly choosing their side.

  16. I would join the Patriots rank because we were all Patriots in America and we wanted to gain independence from Britain. We wanted our own land that would be called the United States. I would also side with the Patriots because Britain was treating us unfairly and were treating us like we were nothing or very little. Patriots also wanted freedom and I do to because I should be aloud to have a say and I should be able to make my own choices. British was bring in new laws and taxes that we wanted nothing to do with. I also would not want to be rules by the British.

  17. I would join the patriot ranks because i would want to fight for my country and do whats right for my family. If I came all the way over seas to be in this country why would I fight against it? I would want to do anything I can to help my counrty and ddo whats right.

  18. I would join the patriot’s side, for many reasons. One reason is the British took advantage of their people. Also they were very rude to their people and forced them to do things they didn’t want to do. Another reason is that Britain had many high tariffs that the people did not approve off. The people had no say in the government because the king made all the decisions. The people tried to make compromises with the king but the king didn't approve, so they didn’t work. All of these reasons, brought me and many other people, to come to the conclusion that the only way of escaping all of the horrible things the king was doing was to break away from Britain.

  19. I would like to join the patriots rank because I would want independence from Britain.I would also want to be a patriot because of fighting on our own ground. Lastly I would like to be a patriot because of the brilliant leader George Washington.

  20. My reasons for joining the patriots are that the people have rights that government should not be aloud to take away, like property. Also, that Colonists don't have voice in Parliament, so England should not tax colonies (taxation without representation).

  21. I would stick with the loyalists. i would be a loyalists because our leader is so great. King George has done so many great things and made many great decisions. I don't see a reason I should turn on my country.

  22. I am a Loyalist. King George III is a great leader who has helped Great Britain through many rough times. He deserves to rule us and he already knows how to lead. Also, I am a Loyalist because Britain is going to win any war against the Patriots. We have ships, a navy, and a great army of men. It is crazy that anyone would choose to be led by inexperienced leaders that don’t even have an actual army. My loyalty is to the king.

  23. I want to stick on the Loyalist side because Britain has everything in order. We also have a very big army and navy, which will help us win the war. The Patriots have a useless militia that will take them nowhere. I have earned lots of money from Britain, so I think that they will help me with my continuing life.

  24. I would stay with the Loyalists because they were American colonists who stayed loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolutionary War.Some slaves escaped and became loyalist. They fought not to be loyal to be loyal to the crown, but wanted to be set free.In return, the british want them to fight in the military service.

  25. During the American revolution, I would stick with the loyalists because they are very experienced, they have a reputation of winning wars, and they have a significantly larger army than the colonies.

    ReplyDelete
  26. One reason why I would stick with the Loyalists is because Great Britain stands for what I believe in. I believe in freedom, and King George promised freedom to people who served in the military. Also, gaining independence from Britain wouldn't be worth it. Going to war with such a large country would be pointless because we would never win.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would stick to being a Loyalist because the King provides safety for all of his citizens and comes up with good ideas like taxing the colonists to get us out of war debt and forcing them to trade with us to make Great Britain stronger.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I want to be a Loyalist because the King does so much for New York. He takes care of us and makes sure we have what we need. If you were a Patriot you would not get cared for to the extent that the King cares for the Loyalists. You are better off under British rule than under Patriot rule. Plus we have better trade with the English which is highly important to us and the King makes sure that it stays strong so we get the supplies we need.

  29. I would stick with the Loyalist because Britain has been a very stable country for a long time, whereas the United States is just getting started. The US has seemed to struggle to find a way to govern themselves. Britain, on the other hand, has treated its people well and having a king is the best way to rule the country.

  30. I would stick with the Loyalists. Britain has a reputation of winning wars and has a more experienced army. The king has provided us with goods. We wouldn't even be a colony without his help.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I want to stick with the king and be a loyalist because it is the safer route. The colonists have a small, untrained "army" that wouldn't stand a chance against the massive trained British forces.

    ReplyDelete
  32. i would be a loyalist because i am from great Britain, i would never split apart from kings George. He has always kept us safe for years.
(I would never be British because it's un-American)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would stick with the Loyalists because the King is providing me with a country that is guaranteed to be safe and clean. Also England is an already stable country. We are stronger with more troops and men.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I want to stay a loyalist because the king and his men are very experienced and can protect me. As a loyalist I have fancy clothes that are in better condition than the dirty patriots. Also, the well trained army of the king can always keep me safe.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would stick with the loyalist because I would not want to disobey the ruler because he could chop my head off. The next reason why I would stick with the loyalist is because he was the reason that we were able to come to New York

    ReplyDelete
  36. I want to be a Patriot because I want to be free from Britain. And Britain has a lot of tariffs on it's people.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would join the Patriots side for many reasons, First the king is taxing us without representation, also rights. The king doesn't give the colonists rights, if the Patriot win then everyone gets rights.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would like to be a patriot becasue I would want independence from Britain. Also becasue the loyalist don't really have a say and have a bunch of tarrifs. Finaly I would want to be a patriot because the loyalist had slaves and it isn't right to have slaves.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I would be a Patriot because I want to have a country with freedoms. Also I would want to have a country that will listen to me and I have a voice in. Lastly I wouldn't want to be bossed around by a king, I would rather have a choice to pick the president.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would stick with the Patriots. The Patriots should have rights and the government should not be able to control the rights they have. I would also want to be a patriot so we could end slavery. I would also want independence from Great Britain.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would be a Patriot because they want to be free of a monarchy and the control that forces taxes and acts. Rebelling for your freedom and what you believe in is a great way to show patriotism and what you and your peers really are determined to have

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would want to be a patriot because I would want to have the freedom to pick our leader. I want to live in a country where I can voice my opinion on certain topics, in Great Britain I can’t do that. I would want the rights to freedom of speech, press, and religion.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I would be a Patriot because I want freedom from tyranny. I think that the king is abusing his power to tax the colonies. Lastly, I think that the colonies have good chances at gaining independence.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I would want to be a patriot so I could be free from Britain and to gain independence from Britain. And also so the Patriots can create their own laws and to form the United States of America.
